Course Invite - Sussex Road Relays 2026
Hello everyone
Following my email last week booking is now open for the Sussex Road Relays on Easter Saturday 4th April. This is a coacha booking where you will need to sign up and pay as you book; there is no race nation sign up for this one. The cost per athlete is £7.
Location: The venue is Preston Park, Brighton over a 1 mile lap on tarmac. The U12 / U14 / U16 runners will complete 1 lap each and U18 / U20 / SM and masters will complete 2 laps each. Click here for a map of the course.
Age Groups: The event will use the new age group categories which start on 1st April. These are U12, U14, U16 and U18 based on 31st August 2026. The minimum age for U12 is 9 on the day of the event. Masters teams are based on athlete age on the day of the event.
Teams: All teams will consist of 3 athletes, except U18 / U20 / SM teams which will be made up of 4 athletes.
Timetable: Race timings are as follows. Whilst the junior races go off together, there are separate teams for girls & boys.
10:30 - U12
11:10 - U14
11:50 - U16
12:30 - U18 / U20 / SW
13:30 - U18 / U20 / SM
14:30 - F40 / F0 / F60
15:30 - M40 / M50 / M60
As mentioned before, we do need volunteers to help with the teams to ensure the right runners are in the right place at the right time and manage any last minute changes to teams or running orders. Each age group team needs one volunteer (usually a parent) and one coach to help the event go smoothly and ensure the athletes are ready to run. If you are able to support the event as either a coach or a volunteer, please use this form to sign up and let me know your availability.
Feel free to email me by reply, or catch the coaches or myself at the track next week if you have any questions about running or helping.
Best wishes
