HISTORY

Athletics has a strong local tradition with Slinfold’s Alf Shrubb, renowned for holding many World Distance Records in the early 1900’s. some lasting for over 30 years.

The Blue Star emblem has been known in Harrier circles for many years, originally cross country and road running club, but in more recent years track and field has come to the fore. The change in emphasis is due to the development of the excellent facilities at Broadbridge Heath.
