GOOD PERFORMANCES AT FINAL YDL LOWER AGE GROUP MATCH

The final round of the Young Athletes League match for the Under 13 and Under 15 age groups took place at Thames Valley Athletic Centre, Eton and the Blue Star team finished in 4th place. This result leave the team in 4th place overall in the league.

Kyla Ball in the under 13 Girls events continued her fine run of form by winning the High Jump with a personal best leap of 1.45m and then went on to jump 4.20m in the Long Jump to take second place.  Anniya Pennington-Bick won the Javelin with a throw of 20.02m. The 75m saw Ellen Pratt and Emma Harrison team up and both secured second place finishes running 10.94s and 11.30s respectively, with Pratt throwing 6.80m to finish second in the Shot event. The 4x100m relay team of Phoebe Penston, Emma Harrison, Kyla Ball and Ellen Pratt ran well to take second place in 58.28s.

Alina Hillicks had a good day in the Under 15 Girls Discus event winning with a throw of 29.18m, a personal best by almost 4m., she then went on to take 3rd place in the Shot with 7.78m, with Evie Hodgen finishing third in the B string with 6.25m. There were good runs in the Under 15 Girls 75m Hurdles event, with Sophie Hogton finishing third in 12.32s and Alexia Johnson taking second place in the B race in 13.35s. The Javelin event saw more valuable points scored with Katiya Pennington-Bick throwing 22.00m for 3rd place in the A event and Lilia Simpson taking second place in the B string with 19.76m.

In the Under 13 Boys events there was a win for Theo Ramage in the Shot with a personal best throw of 8.92m. Ramage then cleared 1.35m for a second place in the High jump and had another second place in the B string Javelin with a throw of 21.47m, where Harry Long threw 26.02m for third place in the A event. In the 100m Joe Cresswell finished third in the A race in 14.03s. In the Under 15 Boys events Charlie Ferris ran a personal best 4m48.74s to take 4th place in the 1500m while Vlad Tikhomirov finished 3rd in the hammer with a throw of 15.58m and 4th place in the Shot with 7.89m, where Ed Crossman took third place in the B string with a throw of 7.78m.
