PROCEDURES AND INFORMATION FOR CLUB NIGHTS HORSHAM BLUE STAR HARRIERS

DO NOT ALLOW ATHLETES TO ATTEND TRAINING IF THEY HAVE A HIGH TEMPERATURE, A NEW CONTINUOUS COUGH, A LOSS OR CHANGE OF THEIR SENSE OF SMELL OR TASTE, OR IF THEY HAVE AN INJURY.

Athletes will be invited by their coach each half term to attend a training session on a club night either Monday and or Wednesday.

U13’s ONLY will train Mondays and or Wednesdays 6.00-6.45, they must all leave the track before

U15 - seniors start training 7.00-8.30 Mondays & 7.00-8.00 Wednesdays

Throws groups lead by Ron Shannon may have different times which will be sent to them.

Once an athlete receives their invitation, they should firstly inform the coach when they will be attending, then since we are now hiring the track for exclusive use, they should pay their track fee direct to the club. Fees for the entire half term must be paid in advance of the start of the term (pay by date will be given) and are non-refundable should the athlete not attend. Each session will cost £3.50 and the total cost should be paid either by BACS to Account name Horsham Blue Star Harriers, Sort code 40-24-33 account 01303473 or by cheque made payable to Horsham Blue Star Harriers sent to Mr M Carrington, 1 Coleridge Close, Horsham, RH12 5PB.

If you already have a track pass please ask for a refund from the leisure centre, this will include time added due to lockdown.

DO NOT PAY TRACK FEES IF YOU HAVE NOT RECEIVED AN INVITATION OR JUST TURN UP AT THE TRACK

One parent/guardian per athlete may spectate in a socially distance marked area.

Athletes should arrive early and line up 2m apart alongside the metal entrance gates, where a staff member from the leisure centre will be present (hand sanitising at entry) they will then proceed to an allocated seating area maintaining 2m distance. Coaches will then start the sessions.

The U13’s group will have a shortened session to allow for cleaning before the next session starts at 7.00. All U13 athletes will be given a wipe to clean their own seat before they leave. Please leave the track promptly by the RED WOODEN GATE to allow the next groups access.

The café in the leisure centre will only be open for take away, there will not be any seating available inside. Masks do not need to be worn in the centre.

All athletes must maintain a 2m distance from each other and the coach. Drills and runs on the track will be in alternate lanes, no one should run in a clockwise direction.

If the long jump is in use lane 1 will not be used on the home straight, middle distance athletes should move to lane 2 (cones will be in place) If there is no long jump lane 1 will be used for the entire lap.

The Tube cannot be used at the moment due to ventilation issues.

The toilets at the track can be used and will be cleaned every hour, however the door must be kept open after use to aid ventilation.

All equipment will be collected by the coach and less otherwise directed by the coach, it will be cleaned before and after being handed out by leisure centre staff.

All coaches are volunteers and likely to be more susceptible to Covid 19, so we expect the new procedures to be maintained alongside 2m social distancing to keep everyone as safe as possible. Please make sure your athlete is aware of the rules and respects them, any infringements will not be tolerated.
